PIME launches “family friendly” trade fair
The event is part of preparations for the VII World Meeting of Families. It opened yesterday and will end on May 20. The fair brings together over 70 exhibitors from all over the world.

Milan (AsiaNews) - The Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions yesterday launched "Tuttaunaltrafesta Family 2012" [A different celebration, Family 2012], dedicated to fair trade at its headquarters in Milan. The event will conclude Sunday, May 20. It includes 70 individual stands (associations, organizations and cooperatives) which showcase fair trade products from around the world, from food to clothing, from crafts to furniture.

This year's event was opened by Paul De Nero, commissioner for the Province of Milan, who spoke to the students present, who are involved in the ExpoGiovani project led by the PIME office for Education in Global awareness together with the Province of Milan.

"Tuttaunaltrafesta 2012" comes at the end of the PIME campaign "Fight hunger by changing your life," designed to accompany the celebrations for the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Centre for Missionary Animation and Culture named after Msgr. Angelo Ramazzotti, patriarch of Venice and founder of the PIME.

In view of the VII World Meeting of Families with the Pope, to be held in Milan from May 30 to June 3, the organizers thought the fair would be an opportunity to prepare for the meeting with the Pope. Among the events dedicated to the family: a Roundtable on "Families facing the crisis" (featuring Don Walter Magnoni, head of the Pastoral Social and Labour), Mass on Sunday morning (11), celebrated by Don Luca Violoni, Secretary General of the Milan Family Foundation 2012; A preview - on a smaller scale - of the exhibition "The world at home," of the foreign families of Baranzate (Milan), the Italy's most multi-ethnic municipality. The exhibition was organized by Media PIME with support from Alcatelonetouch.
