PIME missions at a click of a mouse

Rome (AsiaNews) – The official website of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME) has had a facelift. The new trilingual (Italian, English and Portuguese) site was launched on March 24, the day of the 25th anniversary of Bishop Oscar Romero's martyrdom and the day when Easter Triduum started.

PIME's website has new graphics but also new contents. Fr Luigi Bonalumi, PIME's Vicar General, explains that the site is intended to be "an instrument of communication in real time of what is happening in the Institute and around the missions".

The site is now divided in two sections: PIME News focuses on events, facts, conferences and reflections open to the public; PIME Current Affairs offers news about missions and missionaries.

PIME'S Intranet section is for PIME members only to help improve the PIME community's internal communication around the world.

The PIME's homepage also offers links to other PIME publications, including AsiaNews.

In his opening editorial Father Bonalumi writes he hopes that "the effective and affective communication of the first community of Apostles that formed around Jesus might also grow within the Institute and the Church through modern technology".
