Hong Kong (AsiaNews) - Thousands of people have flocked to different neighborhoods to remember Chow Tsz-lok, 22, who died this morning.  The night between  November 3 and 4, the young man, a student at the University of Science and Technology, fell from the third to the second floor of a parking lot in Tseung Kuan O, trying to escape the police engaged in clashes nearby.  Chow remained in a coma at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, but this morning at 8 am the doctors announced his death.

Today at lunchtime, thousands of people gathered in Central (photo 1) as a sign of mourning, but also to denounce "rampaging police murdering people".  Many of them wore masks on their faces, in open challenge to the ban imposed by the law of emergency.

Police operations against anti-government protesters and against journalists have become increasingly violent and ruthless, so much so as to be called "evil killers" and demand their total resignation.

Flash mobs and silent gatherings were performed at the University of Science and Technology, where the young Chow was studying computers and in the districts of Mong Kok, Kwun Tong and Shatin.

The police deny being the cause of Chow's death, and says they entered the parking lot very late, after Chow was already dead.  At a press conference held on November 5, the spokesman of the police affirmed that Chow's fall is between 0.45 and one in the morning on 4 November.  The police would have entered the parking lot at 0.55.  Citizens News, a network of protesters, would have a video showing the police entering the parking lot at 11.28pm (November 3), minutes before Chow fell.
