Christian Entrepreneur : Young and growing, India is the safest place to invest

The director of Altina Securities ( a financial consulting firm ) agrees with the statements of P. Chidambaram , Minister of Finance. For the politician , "the potential growth rate is 8%, " and " the many projects in the energy sector " are perfect for doing business .

Mumbai (AsiaNews) - A young population and growing revenue : these are the factors that make India a safe place in which to invest. This is according to Clifton Desilva , a Christian entrepreneur and director of Altina Securities ( a financial consulting firm ) , commenting on some recent statements by P. Chidambaram , Indian Minister of Finance , who spoke on Nov. 21 at a meeting of the South Asian Diaspora in Singapore.

The political leader said that "India is an attractive destination for foreign investors , and safe , from the macro -economic and micro-economic point of view". According to the minister , the country "offers investors a variety of possible businesses. Many are ongoing projects in the oil and gas energy sector. Moreover , we have a potential growth rate of 8% ."

Desilva agrees with Chidambaram's positive vision . "India - he tells AsiaNews - is a very large country with a young population full of aspirations. The problems it had in the last two years are of a temporary nature , and the long-term outlook appears bright . Investment and consumption are fundamental : once the investment cycle is launched , India will experience a strong growth. "

Desilva began his career in 1978. In over 30 years he has been a stock broker and involved in investment banking , research and equitable financial management. In 1993 he founded the Altina Securites , offering equity as a model for investments. (NC)
