Dialogue group sponsors training for natural health

Zamboanga (AsiaNews) - Silsilah's vision of dialogue is multi-tracked. It promotes dialogue with God, with self, with others and with creation. It is the last track, dialogue with creation, that is the basis for a trainers' workshop organized by Silsilah. From June 10th  to 17th  nurses, midwives, and health personnel from the municipal and barangay (village) levels, as well as private individuals, will gather at Harmony Village in Sinunuc, Zamboanga City, for the 1st Trainers' Training for Community-Based Health and Development.
The training will educate participants on the nature of human beings, the community and Mother Earth and the inter-connectedness of these three in illness and healing. A particular focus will be understanding Philippine healing herbs and how to process these into preparations for treating ordinary illnesses, as well as organic  soap and health food. Participants will be taught traditional Filipino massage, foot reflexology and the use of compress to promote health and combat sickness.
The training team will be composed of Dr. Rosalinda Maglana and Dr. Luis Ramon Rodriguez. Both are trained physicians with wide exposure to homeopathic medicine and traditional health practices in Filipino culture.
The main goal of the training is to empower  the community to use natural resources for health. To see creation in this new light, using plants and fruits widely available in nature, will spread the realization that these resources are there and available for the use of the good of man.

Silsilah is dialogue movement, started by P.I.M.E. Father Sebastiano D'Ambra with a group of friends in the Philippines, to promote deeper understanding and better relations between Muslims and Christians, and together, with people of other faiths. 'Sisilah' is an Arabic word which means 'chain' or 'link'.
