Niniveh: reconstruction increases Christian unity and communion, says nuncio to Iraq
In a letter to Patriarch Sako, Mgr Ortega Martín says that cooperation between Churches is a "strong show of communion” in the face of persecution and violence. The prelate notes that it is everyone's responsibility to favour the return of refugees to their homes. He praises refugees who "after losing everything, held on to their faith." Christ "is your strength", he tells them.

Interfaith pilgrimage to the cities of India’s great religions "to understand the faith"
A group of seven people of different faiths from Australia have already visited Delhi and Varanasi, symbolic places for Islam and Hinduism. Now they will travel to Bodh Gaya (the cradle of Buddhism) and Kolkata, important for Christians thanks to Mother Teresa. “It is also true, that at times people are afraid; however, faith is always open to others”. Sadly, “Those who close in on themselves do not understand their own faith”.

More and more videos are posted online carrying attacks against Islam and mentioning massacres and forced conversions. The pontiff’s visit to Egypt shows how to deal with biases. Muslim leaders and institutions (like al-Azhar) should encourage reforms. Christians should accompany them on this long and difficult journey.

Al-Azhar conference in Cairo tries to decouple Islam and violence
Egyptian president al-Sisi forcefully backed the meeting to fight the ideology of the Islamic state. Coptic Orthodox Bishop of Tanta says that terrorism has to be fought with peace. Violence binds fundamentalism and relativism. Qur'anic exegesis remains a problem.

Muslim-Christian meeting in Beirut to jumpstart dialogue and fight against fundamentalism
The Saudi Embassy in Beirut sponsored an interfaith meeting on the topic ‘Lebanon unites us’ in order to clear the air in Saudi-Lebanese relations. Sunni Mufti stresses the need to promote Christian-Muslim coexistence. Shias are absent because of Saudi attacks against Hezbollah.
