No imminent agreement with China, Vatican says

The director of the Holy See Press Office, Greg Burke, issued a statement on the matter.

Vatican City (AsiaNews) – There is “no imminent agreement” between the Holy See and China, said Greg Burke, director of the Holy See Press Office, responding to a reporter’s question.

“I can say that that the signing of an agreement between the Holy See and the People's Republic of China is not imminent," Burke said.

"I would also like to stress that the Holy Father Francis remains in constant contact with his collaborators on Chinese issues and follows the progress of ongoing talks.”
