Patriarch Sako: unity, a fundamental good for "wounded" Chaldean Church, to continue
In a letter to the clergy the affirmation of the "ecumenical nature" of a Church which "has been and will always be open to all nations and languages, because Christ has sent it forth to proclaim the Gospel to all nations" and therefore cannot and will not get involved in nationalist campaigns. "It 's time to understand that our Church is invited to transform her reality in light of the resurrection."
Patriarch Sako to Christian politicians : Be united for the good of the community and the country
His Beatitude Mar Raphael Luis Sako , patriarch of Baghdad , sends some guidelines to the politicians involved in the elections in Kurdistan , scheduled for September 21 . The prelate sees defense of the rights of Christians and of the unity of the Iraqi people as the main requirements for stability. He also invites the rich of the community to invest in the country to create jobs and to prevent the exodus of Christians.
For Mar Sako, one year after the Mosul tragedy, only unity and reconciliation can save Iraq
On the first anniversary of the great exodus from the Nineveh Plain, the Chaldean Patriarch addresses a letter to Iraq’s government and parliament. In it, he denounces the difficult conditions in which Christians and Yezidis still live, as well as the thousands of deaths among Muslims. Peace is the only response to the violence of extremist groups who "exploit religion".

On the second anniversary of his election, the Patriarch appeals for the unity of the Eastern Churches and announces the formation of "a joint committee of dialogue". He recalls the "joyful mission" to "witness" the Gospel "to the world today." Finally, Mar Sako appeals for Christians to "remain" close to the suffering of "our displaced brothers and sisters of all denominations."
Chaldean Synod: revitalising the Christian presence in Iraq and freedom for Syrian bishops
This is the thrust of the paper that marked the end of the meeting held in Baghdad on 5-10 June. The Fathers call for the creation of a "competent" Christian political class, urging the faithful to be "a bridge between cultures." The Synod also stressed the importance of the ecumenical movement and calls for an "honest dialogue" with the Assyrian Church of the East. It issues special thanks to Pope Francis.
