Before the operation, they warned residents. The nearby St Georgis Monastery was spared. Built by the Iraqi government in 1984, the convent's nuns provided help to the elderly and people with special needs.

Peace is "wounded" in Europe, "where tensions do not cease." It is violated by terrorism " bankrolled by a frequently unchecked traffic in weapons " and also "the traffic of human beings, which is the new slavery of our time." History today demands the ability to break out of the structures which “contain” our identity and to encounter others, for the sake of making that identity more solid and fruitful in the fraternal exchange of transversality.

11/25/2014MYANMAR - CHINA China, uncovers gang who sell Burmese women "as brides" in the countryside Beijing police have arrested 31 people in Inner Mongolia, accused of human trafficking. Among the victims there are 11 people - including women and children - from Myanmar. Behind the practice the one-child policy and selective abortions, which have created a gender imbalance in China. According to the latest data for every 100 females there are 118 males.
