Pious Disciples of Divine Master in India: In the Year of Faith , we celebrate the centenary of our Family

For a year the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master in Mumbai will lead the celebrations to mark this important anniversary . The superior of the congregation tells of how "people of every faith , age and caste came to our chapel" a sign that " anyone who is in search of God " therefore " is our guest".

Mumbai (AsiaNews ) - " A prophetic moment , a time to revitalize our being , our mission , our way of seeing Jesus the Divine Master " is how Sister M. Valerian, superior of the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master (PDDM, from the Pauline family) in Mumbai, describes the Year of Faith . Also because during the latter stages of this "time of grace ," the sisters began their celebrations for the centenary of the Pauline Family .

At the Prathnalaya , the "House of Prayer" in Bandra , home to the congregation, celebrations for this important anniversary began on August 20 , when in 1914 the Blessed Giacomo Alberione created the Pauline Family . The celebrations will last a year and will end on November 26, 2014 , the liturgical memorial of the founder.

"Our chapel - Sister Valerian tells AsiaNews - is open from early morning until late at night . In this Year of Faith we saw people of every faith , age and caste come and spend time before the Blessed Sacrament . Anyone in search of God is welcome in our adoration Chapel . "

The Sister Disciples of the Divine Master were created in 1924 by Giacomo Alberione. The Feast of the Divine Master Jesus was established in 1958 by the pope, on the instigation of the founder of the religious institute. The year-long centenary celebrations of the Pauline Family commenced on August 20, 2013, with a thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration and will conclude on November 26, 2014, the feast of Blessed James Alberione.
