Filipino Church: helping women and families in crisis against abortion
Pregnancy Support Services of Asia (PSSA) is organising a conference together with the Commission on Family and Life of the Archdiocese of Manila and Life and Couples for Christ. The goal is to promote a "healthy" way of experiencing pregnancy.

Manila (AsiaNews/CBCP) - Pregnancy Support Services of Asia (PSSA), a life-affirming organisation, together with the Archdiocese of Manila Commission on Family and Life and Couples for Christ, is organising a conference titled 'Your Heart Today' at the St Michael Retreat House in Antipolo City from 6 to 8 March.

The goal of the gathering is to help women come through any crisis they might experience during their pregnancy. This way they do not resort to abortion, children are saved and strong families are built.

The conference will focus on the importance of life and family values in today's society. The aim is to promote healthy ways to experience pregnancy, support responsible healthcare for women and children, and develop strong ties in families.

PSSA's goal is to cut the number of abortions and help families throughout Asia by establishing, developing and supporting pregnancy services in specialised centres, including counselling for mothers. Wherever possible, action on behalf of women in crisis should be preventive and proactive.

The non-profit organisation is affiliated with Heartbeat International, an association with more than 1,800 pregnancy centres that offer counselling and support services to women, enabling them to keep their babies instead of aborting them.
