Indeed, "The pope feels that the Holy Year is a matter of urgency for the Church of our time, which is called to go out into the edges of existence,” said the Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.

Since both Islam and Christianity see mercy is an attribute of God, this might lead to shared moments during the Holy Year for Christians and Muslims.
"I think we could find ways for the two religions to show a willingness of working together and applying this principle,” he explained.
Indeed, the Jubilee will provide an opportunity to build paths of peace at a time of terror, fear, distrust [. . .]. This is what the Lord has always told us to do, i.e. overcoming evil with goodness."
Speaking about the security arrangements in Rome before the opening of the Holy Door, the cardinal said that “concerns have been raised with respect to what has happened, but I have the impression that a certain serenity is prevailing; therefore, let us put ourselves in God's hands. The Jubilee of Mercy means merciful attention for the poor, the downtrodden, and people tried by life, the Pope wrote in his message to Angelo Scelzo, who just published a book about the pope.
