Pope: Pray with me for Christians "persecuted because they are Christians" (Video)

Francis' video message for March prayer intention. Those who persecute and kill do not distinguish between Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants.

Vatican City (AsiaNews) – Help " Christians persecuted because they are Christian” with prayer.  Be they Catholic, Orthodox or Protestant,  asks Pope Francis in the video message for his March prayer intention.

Francis reminds us that there are many people "persecuted because of their faith, forced from their homes, their places of worship, their lands, their loved ones". "They are persecuted and killed because they are Christians, without distinction, by the persecutors, among the denominations to which they belong".

The Pope, then, asks "how many of you are praying for Christians who are persecuted." He encourages people to pray with him, "so that they experience the fraternal support of all the churches and communities in prayer and through our material help". The video message shows Christians of various denominations, churches destroyed, the faithful of all races in prayer and ends with the image of people who provide concrete assistance to those who are harassed because of their faith.
