Dhaka (AsiaNews) - 40 children, students of the Madrasa, have been raped by their teachers. The data was reported yesterday by Muktijuddho Mancha, a human rights organization (in the photo: the demonstration) which organized an exhibition of documents at the University of Dhaka to ask for the death penalty for those who rape. They also called for a nucleus against sexual harassment.

Muktijuddho Mancha reported that last month (November) 40 students from the Madrasa were raped by their teachers. Among them three students died and one committed suicide. Muktijuddho Mancha collected sexual abuse data from several national newspapers.

Apparently, parents should be aware of the rape of boys as well as girls. It is noteworthy that many people are unaware that even a male child can be sexually assaulted and are unaware that they need to protect their son as well as their daughters. Al Mamun, secretary of Muktijuddho Mancha, says: “I ask the government for a law that provides for the death sentence for the rape of boys. The law will protect male children from sexual abuse."
