Seoul (AsiaNews / Agencies) - The State Agency for Disease Control and Prevention (Kdca) today established that all those who have been fully vaccinated in the country will be exempted from the 14-day quarantine if they return from abroad.
The country is implementing a tight pandemic control and vaccination program. The new rules will only apply if people have been vaccinated at home; they will still be subject to testing and must not have any symptoms.
The Kdca is studying how to deal with people who have been vaccinated abroad. On the one hand, the verification of vaccination certificates from other nations and the implementation of reciprocity rules between South Korea and the other countries whose certificates are recognized are at stake. One thing to keep in mind is that passengers from other countries carry variants of the virus with them. Until now, entry to people from Brazil and South Africa is prohibited.
The National vaccination program began on February 26th. So far, at least with one dose, nearly 3 million people have been vaccinated, about 5.5% of the population.
