Russian bishops launch official website in Moscow
The Conference of Catholic Bishops of Russia yesterday launched its first official internet site. The archbishop of Moscow said it will serve to win the battle against relativism and boost ties with other religions.

Moscow (AsiaNews/Agencies) – The Conference of Catholic Bishops of Russia (CCBR) yesterday launched its official website - www.ruscatholic.ru. It presents activities of the Conference and of the representative of the Holy See in Russia, as well as information about dioceses and educational institutions of the Catholic Church.

Official documents will be published in the future and a section already exists for Vatican documents and theological treatises. The CCBR General Secretary, Fr Igor Kovalevsky, has been appointed as editor-in-chief of the website.

The Archbishop of Moscow, Mgr Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, welcomed the new information tool, describing it as “dream that has come true at last”. The archbishop said: “I hope that this good undertaking will bring abundant fruits, affirming moral values in the face of the challenges of liberal secularism, moral relativism and religious ignorance.”

Mgr Kondrusiewicz continued: “The new site will serve to better relations with other confessions and religions, including the Russian Orthodox Church first and foremost.”
