This is the goal of the conference organised by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace that will be held in Bangkok from January 25 to the 27.

Vatican City (AsiaNews) – The challenges that the peoples of Asia face today, challenges like the new poverty and terrorist violence, the search for success at all cost and the effects of an accelerating but imbalanced economic growth, as seen through the social doctrine of the Church are at the heart of an Asia-wide conference that will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from January 25 to the 27.

The meeting, which is promoted by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences and the Bishops’ Conference of Thailand, will present the Social Doctrine of the Church as a tool that offers direction and lines of action to face the new challenges in the search of a balance that would ensure the continent justice and peace.

Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, President of the Vatican dicastery, will commence the conference. Card Michael Michai Kitbunchu, Archbishop of Bangkok, and Archbishop Orlando B.
