On July 8, the archbishop of the capital visited a hospital run by the Catholic Medical Center, which runs the largest medical network in the country: "You have embodied the spirit of the hospital, which is respect for human life". Many state hospitals have refused to receive patients suspected of MERS, while Catholics have welcomed them and cared for them.

The function takes place every Tuesday from 7 March 1995. Card Yeom, archbishop of Seoul, consecrates two auxiliary bishops named by Pope Francis on 30 December 2013. This will be followed by 26 deacons; and on 7 February, 38 new priests, including one Vietnamese.

The prelate, who was appointed cardinal by Pope Francis, celebrated Mass in the village Eun-pyong, a shelter for the homeless and the sick run by Caritas Seoul: "I need your prayers, which are strong, because they are made under difficult circumstances."
