Caritas Indonesia’s mission in the earthquake-hit areas

On 15 August 2026, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Flores, causing 103 deaths and leaving over 82,000 people displaced. Relief efforts in the affected areas have been co-ordinated, providing medical assistance, psychosocial support and essential supplies. Indonesian bishops have praised the organisation for its prompt response.
