The Pope returns to the war in the Middle East: "Please stop, in the name of God." Special concern for the children victims of the violence: "Their future is being killed." He also launches a new appeal that a widening of the conflict be avoided at all costs.

At the press conference of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, its Grand Master, Card Fernando Filoni, said that the role of Christians is to act as a bridge in the conflict. The Order is helping the Latin Patriarchate through a flow of donations. Looking to the future, “We will have to rebuild,” said the Order’s ambassador, Leonardo Visconti di Modrone.

More than 5,000 people were present at the Mass that concluded the Synod on synodality. In his homily, Francis said: “we have experienced the loving presence of the Lord,” and “with farsightedness we look to the horizon opening up before us.” During the Angelus, he thanked all those who joined the Day of Fasting, Prayer and Penance last Friday: "Let us not stop," he insisted. As Fr Ibrahim Faltas said, “War is always a defeat.”

Francis at the Angelus invited dioceses and parishes to be "burning hearts and walking feet". Proximity to the Anglican hospital and the Greek Orthodox church hit by bombing in recent days. "Brothers, stop. Open spaces for humanitarian aid."
