Internal migrants’ incomes rise, but access to welfare remains low
While 71.8 per cent of workers who moved to southern India report a better quality of life following migration, 73.3 per cent face obstacles in accessing social welfare benefits. Healthcare, employment contracts, and awareness of their rights remain key areas of vulnerability.
