Catholics and Muslims to discuss " Believers in front of materialism and secularism "

The meeting will be held next year in Rome. The decision taken during a meeting between the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue and the International Islamic Forum for Dialogue.

Vatican City (AsiaNews) - " Believers in front of materialism and secularism " is the theme that Catholics and Muslims will discuss during a meeting to be held in Rome in one year's time, in July 2013. The decision to do so, according to a note published today in the Vatican, was taken during a special session of the Islamic-Catholic Liaison Committee, held in Rome on July 10.

"The participants exchanged views on relations between Christians and Muslims in the current world situation" and decided the place and theme of the next interview.

The Holy See delegation was led by Cardinal Jean Louis Tauran, president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, the Muslim President of the International Islamic Forum for Dialogue, Hamid bin Ahmad Al-Rifaie.
