He was murdered for no reason during a raid on the religious building, where refugees and displaced people were housed. The security forces terrorize the population with gunfire, raids, searches. The priests try to stop them, but to no avail. Between 15 February and 15 May, 73 young people under the age of 18 have been killed.

The church of St. Joseph in Demoso was targeted, after that of the Sacred Heart in Kayantharyar (Loikaw). A volunteer was also killed trying to save some civilians in the midst of a shootout. The death toll as of yesterday stands at 831 people; 4331 people are incarcerated. The French Total and the American Chevron cut some contributions to the junta companies. Activists: it is purely symbolic. The military earns at least $ 3.3 billion in revenue every year.

The military, which reject the election results of last November, have stacked the Election Commission with their own cronies. Coup leaders want to change election rules to favour small parties (as well as their own proxy party). While some pro-democracy parties have accepted to take part in the reform process, most have refused. For many observers, the junta will only hold elections when it is sure to win.

The military clash with armed ethnic groups in Mindat. Since February, at least 15,000 Chin have crossed the border with India. At least 805 people have been killed and 4,146 detained since the coup.

But France’s Total and US-based Chevron continue to do business with the junta. The oil sector generates more than US $1.5 billion in revenue for military-controlled Myanmar. As of yesterday, the junta has made 3,885 arrests and killed 785 people.

Her lawyers have not been able to meet her in private. Her trial is designed to undermine popular support for her. Meanwhile, junta violence continues with 781 killed and 3,843 arrested.

Myanmar’s military are back to their old methods: stealing, searching, beating, killing under torture. The fate of 33-year-old Aung Myint Hlaing is a case in point.

In recent months, 769 people have been killed, including 50 children under six. More demonstrations are held against the junta in Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, and Tabayin.

Pre-dawn rallies are held in Dawei, Yangon, Mandalay, and Kalo. In Naungcho (Shan State), vegetables, fish and other food are provided to the needy. The independent Tachileik agency is closed. Satellite television receivers are banned.

National League for Democracy deputy Thet Win Hlaing was hiding from the repression, along with deserting policemen. A fourth policeman was injured and lost both arms in the blast. Japanese journalist Yuki Kitazumi accused of "fake news": he faces up to three years in prison.

This morning, a military helicopter was shot down by KIA, the army of the Kachin ethnic group. Yesterday demonstrations in Yangon, Wetlet, Hsipaw, Nawnghkio, Mandalay, Hpakant. At least six killed.
