On Friday, at least 82 people were killed in Bago, which came under siege in the early hours of the morning. The bodies of the dead and wounded were stacked in a pagoda and then disappeared. Raids on homes was followed by arrests and destruction. Soldiers prevented the retrieval of the bodies of those killed, as well as the treatment of the wounded. As of yesterday, 706 people have been killed following the coup d'état with 3,059 people arrested.

The generals now resorting to the death penalty and martial law. Junta, the country is returning to "normality". There were dozens more killed yesterday. The appeal of foreign ambassadors to Myanmar. The UN envoy refused entry into the country.

The CHRP is at the heart of the civil disobedience movement. It is working for a new federal constitution and for unity among all armed ethnic groups. The UN Special Rapporteur for Myanmar Tom Andrews slams the military's actions. Last Saturday, 114 people were killed; yesterday another 13; including children and youth under 16. Since 1 February, the death toll has risen to 459 with 2,559 people jailed. Armed Karen and Kachin groups have clashed with the military. The EU’s Josep Borrell calls on the generals to abandon the “senseless path” of violence against their own people.

The army killed 12 people yesterday. The toll so far is 320 dead, of which 20 are children. Success of the "Silent Strike": the streets of the cities are empty.
