Beijing (AsiaNews) - The Chinese lunar probe Chang'e 4 continues to send photos from its position on the hidden face of the Earth's satellite. But today it sent a photo of a plant.
It is the sprout of a cotton plant, contained in a part of the spaceship, which is used for biology experiments.
This is the first biological experiment on the lunar surface. For this purpose, the Chang'e 4 is also carrying seeds of potatoes, together with the eggs of fruit flies.
Another probe, the Chang'e 5, is being prepared for launch in 2019.
On January 11th, Chang'e 4 sent a panoramic photo of the moon's hidden face. Le Monde offered a 360 degree view, prepared by Thomas Appéré, professor of physics and chemistry (see here).
