Beijing (AsiaNews / Agencies) - The man suspected of being behind a series of parcel bombs in Guangxi, died in one of the 15 explosions he triggered, according to reports carried by Xinhua, citing Lizhou police.
The police said that Yinyong Wei, 33, made several bombs and personally delivered them or through a courier. Traces of his DNA were found in one of the explosions. In recent days, the police had seized at least 60 suspicious packages. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 10 people; the wounded are 51.
According to the police, Wei acted in anger, in revenge against the villagers and the local government that had closed his quarry because the mining explosions troubled residents and sometimes shattered glass in the windows of their homes.
Wei Yinyong is survived by his wife, daughter and an infant son. Relatives believe that Wei is innocent because "there is insufficient evidence."
