Hong Kong (AsiaNews) – Tens of thousands of people today challenged a government ban in order to gather to remember the 4 June 1989 Tiananmen massacre when thousands of Chinese students were massacred for demanding freedom and democracy.

In the morning, pro-democracy activists protested in groups of eight so as to remain within the limits on gatherings set by the authorities to counter the pandemic.
