Seoul, a Foundation to keep the spirit of the card. Kim alive

The archdiocese launched the new body to support social development projects. The name of the Foundation, Babo Nanum, takes its cue from the first term that means "fool": the word that the late cardinal had written under his picture.

Seoul (AsiaNews) - The Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul yesterday launched the Foundation Nanum Babo, whose purpose is to keep alive and promote the spirit of the late archbishop, Cardinal Stephen Kim Sou-hwan.

The word "Babo" in Korean means "fool" and is the term that the same prelate wrote under his picture. The aim is to respect the cardinal as he was, and always keep in mind his social commitment.

The Foundation, explained Caritas Seoul together with the Catholic organization "One body, one spirit", was approved by the civil authorities: the founding purpose is to establish a national network " to keep alive in the Catholic community the Cardinal’s idea of a good Christian as a man who is dedicated to the poor and needy. " Furthermore, there are the fundraising activities and conferences to raise the social consciousness of the country. These will take place under the authorization of the archdiocese throughout the entire,  an additional way to keep alive the community spirit of local Catholics.

Another of the most important aims of the new Foundation is to promote the culture of sharing. Thus, the Babo Nanum aims to support those individuals and communities who want to commit to developing a charitable society as a whole. According to the principle of equality of benefits, dear to the card. Kim, the projects will be totally interfaith.
