Seoul (AsiaNews) - The armed forces and secret services election interference "had not been seen since the end of military regimes".  "Whether she knew it or not, the beneficiary is President Park Geun-hye, she should take steps to resolve the crisis of democracy.  I call on the president to clearly show her intent to solve the problem, and to take immediate action". This is the content of a message released today by Moon Jae-in , Democratic congressman and former presidential candidate defeated by a narrow margin by the current leader, from the ranks of the Conservative Party .

The message refers to the fraud and bribery carried out by the National Intelligence Service (NIS), during the recent vote: they are accused of having manipulated the last presidential election by sending tens of thousands of intimidating messages to elderly voters, manipulating ballots and urns and by releasing defamatory dossiers on democratic candidates .

In addition to Moon other House Democrats also intervened in the controversy, yet despite this the Party has decided to remain in Parliament. According to Sul Hoon the elections "were an injustice in every sense ," while the former leader Park Jie -won added that the possibility of appealing against the result of the vote should be seriously considered.

In recent weeks, the South Korean Church launched a manifesto of protest against the interference of the National Intelligence Service , "All the 15 dioceses in the country have endorsed the Manifesto - a source tells AsiaNews - which was signed by the vast majority of priests and women religious . Soon after came a pronouncement by the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace . " It has garnered a further 20 thousand signatures from the original 6 thousand in the past 15 days.
