Bangladesh’s largest parish celebrates the closing of the Year of Faith

At least 2 thousand Catholics attended the liturgy. One faithful affirms: "This year has made me stronger." The parish of Tejgaon was founded in 1677.

Dhaka (AsiaNews ) - About 2 thousand Catholics from Tejgaon, the largest and oldest parish in Bangladesh, yesterday celebrated the closing of the Year of Faith . Archbishop Patrick D' Rozario , Bishop of Dhaka and President of the Bishops' Conference, celebrated the Mass , stressing that "this time we all become stronger and firmer in our Christian faith."

"The Year of Faith - Joseph Gomes a Catholic of 35 years told AsiaNews - has made us stronger. Faith means trust. If I have faith in Christ, I can depend on Him ."

The parish of Tejgoan was founded in 1677. Today, it has more than 30 thousand faithful, including Catholic migrants from other areas of Bangladesh.
