Mumbai (AsiaNews) - A massive explosion this morning struck the Bangalore headquarters of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). At least 13 people were injured in the explosion. The bomb was reportedly under a motorcycle of the local police, parked outside the offices of the party.
Eight policemen were wounded - two are in a very serious condition - and five civilians. In addition to the bike, the explosion destroyed three cars. Police have surrounded the area and started an investigation.
According to TV reports, police sources say IED (Improvised explosive device) was used to trigger the blast outside BJP office outside Bangalore.
Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) president, Sajan K George, expresses "serious concern" at the IED triggered explosion and appeals for calm.
