Pope will remember tsunami victims and rescuers in midnight mass

Vatican City (AsiaNews) – Tsunami victims and their families as well rescuers and aid workers will be remembered in the mass the Pope will celebrate tonight, at midnight, in his private chapel, this according to a note released this afternoon by Joaquin Navarro, Vatican spokesman.

"At midnight," Father Navarro said, "the Holy Father will celebrate a mass for all the victims of the undersea quake that hit south-east Asia."

"The Pope will also remember the families of the victims, all those who are suffering as a result of this catastrophic event and all those who are working to alleviate the suffering of the affected populations". (FP)
