Pope thanks Chinese Catholics for their faith even in the time of the pandemic (VIDEO)

The short video is by Bishop Stephen Chow Sau Yan, who recently met the pope in the Vatican. The pontiff blesses the Church in China and Hong Kong tackling the pandemic.

Vatican City (AsiaNews) - Pope Francis directly spoke to Catholics in mainland China and Hong Kong who are struggling once again with COVID-19, and gave them his blessing.

The pontiff’s address appears in a short video (see below) released tonight by the Sunday Examiner, Hong Kong’s Catholic weekly, with an English translation (see below).

Bishop Stephen Chow Sau Yan, who met with Francis a few days ago, made the video himself.

Pope Francis thanks the faithful in China for their “love to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Mother of God, Our Lady” and gives them his blessing.

The Chinese-language Xinde website immediately posted the video, which is being widely seen by Chinese Catholics. Here is pope’s blessing.

Dear brothers and sisters, you Catholics,

I greet you with gratitude and love. Thank you for your testimony of faith. Thanks for the love to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Mother of God, Our Lady. Thank you for your work; for bearing so much with this COVID pandemic makes us suffer a lot.

We go forward with the Lord, sometimes the Lord is hidden from our sight, but He is always beside us. It takes patience to hope. I am close to you; I love you so much! I pray for you, and you, please pray for me!

Now may Almighty God bless you all, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
