The Arab League will donate 500 million dollars for Jerusalem

Arab countries are concerned about the new Israeli settlements and the U.S. failure to stop the colonization. Netanyahu: Israel pursues the same policy on Jerusalem for 42 years.

Jerusalem (AsiaNews / Agencies) - The Arab League has decided to donate 500 million dollars to support the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem after the Israeli government's decision to strengthen Jewish settlement in the area east of town.

Speaking to reporters’ yesterday evening, Arab League secretary general Amr Moussa, confirmed the decision. It will be revealed in full detail at the meeting of the body to be held tomorrow and the day after in Sirte, Libya.

Moussa also said that the Arab foreign ministers are assessing the increasingly incendiary situation in the disputed city after the failure of U.S. policy to halt the Israeli settlement. " We can't accept continuation of settlement activities at any rate," said Moussa.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, returning from a meeting in Washington with the U.S. government and with President Barack Obama, said today that "there will be no change in Israeli policy regarding Jerusalem, the same that has been pursued by all Israeli governments for 42 years".
