Sareer Ahmed was killed by a student on Monday. The latter had been marked as "absent" after taking part in protests by Islamic radicals in Islamabad. "People are seeking refuge in religion to escape economic woes but sadly they are being radicalised".
Universities shut down to protest university professor abduction
Ajmal Khan, who is related to Asfandyar Wali, leader of Pakistan’s most secular-oriented party, was abducted on 7 September by a group of Taliban. In video footage shown on private TVs, he calls on faculty and students to put pressure on the government to take the necessary steps to free him.

Ethnic violence in Rakhine: Buddhist parliamentarian arrested for 'high treason'
