Sisters of the Holy Family aid Mullikulam refugees
For the first time, 215 families have received medical and food aid: rice, flour, milk powder, soap and medicines. Driven from their village in the district of Mannar 20 years ago, Tamil Catholics now live in a jungle, with no chance of work.

Sisters aid elderly Tamil refugees destroyed by war
At Vankalai in Mannar district, there is a shelter that houses 26 elderly people. It is one of three Elders Home supported by the diocese of the city in the north. Sr Kanagasabai., centre director: "They are in the bitter position of receiving care and attention while their children and relatives are suffering in the camps."

Groups of Christians from the south visit war refugees in Vavuniya
The initiative is organized by the Christian Solidarity Movement, which intends to repeat the trip each week. The intention is to show a concrete sign of solidarity to war victims, and to knock down the wall of hostility between Sinhalese and Tamils, built over 25 years of conflict. Battuluoya, a parish reborn thanks to the nuns love
On the 8th of June, the parish of St. Anthony of Battuluoya celebrates its centenary. From 20 to 26 May, a group of 12 religious of the Holy Family of Colombo visited all Catholic families in the parish. Thanks to the missionary gesture hundreds of people have drawn closer to the Church, the sacraments and the Gospel values .

UN: Tamil 163 thousand still confined in refugee camps
