Temple Mount clashes leave wounded and arrested
The Palestinian Authority condemns raid by Israeli security forces on al-Aqsa, coinciding with the Jewish New Year. Israel imposes closures and restrictions on the area to ensure the entry of settlers ahead of festivities. Palestinian youths had spent the night in the mosque to prevent entry of visitors.

Church of the Nativity in UNESCO; Mount Tabor a "national park". It's time to save the Holy Places
The inclusion of the Nativity in the list of "World Heritage sites" is welcomed by Catholics because the Church is in urgent need of restoration, so far hampered by the Orthodox community. Importance of ensuring its "architectural integrity" to avoid its ruin, similar to that taking place in the Holy Sepulchre with the construction of the Katholicon. Also important to monitor Israeli attempts to place the holy sites in Galilee "under the State protection".

Jerusalem, tensions continue on Temple Mount. Crackdown on stone throwing
After the death of one of its citizens, the Israeli government announced tougher penalties for those who throw stones and rocks. Two young Palestinians arrested over clashes in al-Aqsa. The red crescent denounces 26 people injured. EU and UN have launched appeals for calm. The failure of the peace plan has generated mistrust and discontent.

After yesterday's clashes in Jerusalem, Palestinian dies today trying to escape arrest
The young man, 18, was wounded in the leg, and fell as he tried to leap from one roof to another. Yesterday's clashes were caused by an attempt by ultra-Orthodox Jews to commemorate Tisha B'av, a day of remembrance for the destruction of both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem, on the Esplanade of the Mosques, where, according to Jewish tradition the temples once stood.
Jerusalem: second car ramming victim dies. Clashes at Akkari funeral
The young 17 year old son of a member of Shas, was seriously injured two days ago at a tram stop near East Jerusalem. Thousands of soldiers in riot gear. The funeral of Ibrahim al-Akkari, author of the attack, took place late last night. The police have only allowed 35 people to take part, driving away the crowd that had gathered at the cemetery with tear gas and rubber bullets.
