Xi Jinping calls for a new world order to reflect the newfound influence of Asia and Africa

At the Asia Africa Summit, which marked the 60th anniversary of Bandung Conference, Chinese President called for a fairer international system that reflects the growing influence of the nations of the two continents. He also called on industrialised nations to stop putting political conditions on international aid.

Jakarta (AsiaNews/Agencies) – President Xi Jinping yesterday called for the creation of a fairer international order that reflects the growing influence of Asian and African countries.

China’s leader, who spoke the summit marking the 60th anniversary of the 1955 Asian-African Conference in Bandung, urged industrialised countries to boost aid to developing countries without imposing political conditions.

Mr Xi also emphasised the need for a new form of international relations, structured so that cooperation can be a win-win situation.

Likewise, the world’s various regions should build a new international order that was "more just and equitable", and the financial system should be fairer, more tolerant and disciplined so as to create a good external environment for developing countries.
