Manila: Caritas and Catholic Chinese NGOs to work together
Several members of Caritas Internationalis and representatives of Catholic charities from mainland China met in the Filipino capital to coordinate better action to prevent the spread of AIDS and deal with natural disasters in mainland China. "Our action is based on the same faith, and the charitable activities of the Catholic Church in China should not be isolated from the rest of the world," Caritas Asia president told AsiaNews.

Official death toll from flooding and drought stands at 1,630
As announced at the beginning of this month, China's Civil Affairs Ministry released an official report on natural disaster. It shows that in nine months 1,630 people have been killed causing damage worth 163 billion yuans.
Good Friday in Manila: a "journey of penance" to protect the country from natural disasters
The Special Way of the Cross will start at 5 am in Pasay City and end in front of Manila Cathedral. All of the capital's 500 parishes will send a delegation. Prelates from areas affected by typhoons and quakes will all attend. Card Tagle calls for "solidarity" with the victims, to be one with those who suffer.
