Islamabad: an innocent 24-year-old Christian man tortured to death by police
According to the police, the victim hanged himself. Autopsy results indicate however that he died from "serious internal injuries" sustained during interrogation. Arrested on charges of theft, the young man was subjected to brutal treatment to extract a confession. The incident occurred at a police station considered as a "model" facility.

Faisalabad: hundreds of Christians protest police brutality against their pastor
For two days, Christians have protested demanding justice from the authorities, but to no avail. On 19 May, police agents raided the church where Kamal Chugtai was celebrating Mass. They beat the pastor and intimidated the faithful. They want “to silence us,” he said, “but we shall not be silenced; we shall continue to raise our voice on behalf of minorities.”
Clashes between Christians and the police, over the torture of a Christian girl
Farzana, aged 16, is accused of stealing from the Muslim family for which she works. The police arrested her, tortured her, and forced her to confess. Her father and three brothers were then arrested. 500 Christians have taken to the streets to protest, and the police are rounding them up. Now they are asking for justice.
Islamic extremists arrested for the murder of seven Christians
Karachi police detains three Muslim fundamentalists who are members of the ‘Tehreek-e-Islami Lashkar-e-Mohammadi.’ At the time of the murders in 2002 the local press and some police officials had said that they were the result of in-fighting among Christians.

Four secular activists go missing, seized perhaps by police
The missing men are Prof Salman Haider and bloggers Waqas Goraya, Aasim Saeed and Ahmad Raza Naseer. The four men disappeared last week in different cities. They had criticised on social media religious extremism and radical elements in government and military.
The "usual" Chinese policy: dissidents arrested ahead of National People's Congress
They are authors of petitions, pro-democracy activists, defenders of human rights: they will be released after the conclusion of the NPC. Yuan Xianchen has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for defending the rights of miners, and calling for more democracy.
