Riyadh deports a pastor to Eritrea where he could get the death penalty
Eyob Mussie, an Eritrean refugee, was arrested on 12 February in Jeddah on charges of Christian proselytising. A court had decided to repatriate him forcibly. An appeal has been made to find a third country for the clergyman.

Defendants carried out a series of attacks across the kingdom between 2003 and 2006. One extremist is sentenced to death; others, to jail terms or house arrests. It is the first terrorism trial in Saudi Arabia.

Alaa al-Zahrani was beheaded for killing a person by stoning. Most of the death sentences imposed for murder and drug trafficking. Activists and international organizations are fighting to get fairer trials and less cruel executions.

Sri Lanka woman accused of sorcery could be beheaded in Saudi Arabia
She was arrested after a man complained that his daughter started acting strangely during a trip to a shopping centre in Jeddah after they came close to the Sri Lankan. Since September, two people have been put to death for the same reason.

Not enough executioners for Saudi Arabia's death row inmates
Justice Ministers plans to add shooting to beheading as a method of execution; not out of compassion, but because the lack of executioners is causing a backlog. Since January 2013, at least 40 people have been executed, the last one on 14 May. Last year, 76 people were executed.
