Pope: Placing ourselves in "in the hands of God," a father "who even when he has to scold us does so with a caress " , never with "a slap "

Even in the face of death, “ it is one thing to go through this experience belonging to the devil and another thing is to go through this experience in God’s hands" . " The Bible explains Creation, using a beautiful image: God, who, with his hands moulds us from mud, from earth in His image and likeness. The hands of God created us: the God craftsman, like a craftsman He made us. These hands of the Lord ... the hands of God, which never abandon us".

Vatican City ( AsiaNews) - Relying on " the hands of God," a father who never abandons his children, who " who even when he has to scold us does so with a caress " , never with "a slap" . And even in the face of death, "it is one thing to go through this experience belonging to the devil and another thing is to go through this experience in God's hands", noted Pope Francis at Mass this morning in Casa Santa Marta.

The Pope's homily, according to Vatican Radio, was inspired by a passage in the Book of wisdom that reminds us of our creation. "God created man for incorruption ," but " the envy of the devil brought death into the world ." The envy of the devil started this war, "his road that ends with death ." The latter " has entered the world and make it experience, those who belong to him". It is an experience that we will all have.  We all have to undergo death but it's one thing to undergo this experience when belonging to the devil and it's another to undergo this experience when in the hands of God. And I like to hear this : ' We are in God's hands from the beginning '. The Bible explains Creation using a beautiful image : God, who, with his hands moulds us from mud, from earth in His image and likeness. The hands of God created us: the God craftsman, like a craftsman He made us. These hands of the Lord ... the hands of God, which never abandon us".

The Bible , he said, tells us that the Lord says to his people : " I have walked with you, as a father with his son , leading him by the hand ." It is precisely the hands of God, he added , " that accompany us on the journey ." " Our Father , like a father with his son , teaches us to walk . Teaches us to travel the path of life and salvation. God's hands caress us in times of sorrow, they comfort us.  It is our Father who caresses us! Who is so fond of us. And even in these caresses, many times, there is forgiveness . Something that does me good to think about. Jesus, God has brought his wounds to show the Father. This is the price: God's hands are wounded out of love! And that comforts us so much".

Often, people who do not know whom to trust and they say: "I'm in God's hands". This "is beautiful" because "there we are safe: it is maximum safety, because it is the safety of our Father who loves us". "God's hands also heal us from our spiritual diseases". "We think of the hands of Jesus, when touched the sick and healed them ... These are the hands of God, they heal us ! I do not imagine God giving us a slap ! I cannot imagine it. Scolding us , yes I can imagine that, because He does . But never, never hurting us. Never! He caresses us.  Even when He should scold us He does so with a caress, because He is a Father. 'The souls of the righteous are in the hands of God.' think of the hands of God, who created us like a craftsman , who has given us eternal salvation.  His wounded hands accompany us on our life's journey. Let us entrust ourselves to the hands of God like a child relies on the hand of his father. It is a safe hand! "
