China's Defence Minister Li Shangfu, missing for two months, has been sacked

CHINA

Two months after his disappearance from public life, Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu was removed from office, but no reason was given by the Chinese authorities, nor was a replacement announced. His dismissal follows the recent firing of several military officials, including Qin Gang, who was removed as foreign minister in July.

MALAYSIA

Most of the illegal scam centers raided in Kuala Lumpur were located in luxury apartments, noted Malaysian police, who arrested 855 people in connection with such crimes between January and September. Police chief Datuk Allaudeen added that he will also investigate the possibility that security guards at luxury homes are in cahoots with criminal gangs.

GAZA – ISRAEL

According to Gaza's health minister, more than 700 Palestinians were killed in 24 hours due to Israeli airstrikes, adding that the shelling did not abate after Hamas released two hostages. In the meantime, local hospitals have stopped providing all services except emergency ones and the United Nations - which would need at least 100 trucks of humanitarian aid per day - will be forced to suspend the distribution of material if they do not receive new supplies.

ASIA – PACIFIC

According to a United Nations report released earlier this week, urban residents in Asia-Pacific cities will increase from the current 2.5 billion to 3.4 billion in 2050. The region has the largest number of people – around 650 million – who They live in informal settlements and slums, which are extremely vulnerable and marginalized. Furthermore, a disproportionately large number of large cities are located on the coast, which is more threatened than inland areas by climate change.

INDIA

In India, total electricity demand from the use of air fans is likely to exceed the total electricity currently consumed across Africa by 2050, the International Energy Agency said, adding that demand from electronic appliances of electrical appliances has tripled since 2010, reaching 24 units per 100 families. Furthermore, in the last 50 years, 700 heat waves have occurred in the country.

BANGLADESH

Nearly 275,000 people moved into shelters today as Cyclone Hamoon slammed into the southeastern coast, killing at least two people, Bangladeshi authorities said. Power lines were down and heavy rains hit coastal villages and islands, but no widespread serious damage was reported, Kamrul Hasan, secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management, added.

RUSSIA

The private company of Redut fighters, under the control of the Ministry of Defense, created the Borz women's battalion to recruit women to train and send to the front line of the Ukrainian front, with notices explaining that "women can also become snipers and operating assault drones, they're not just made for soup and kids."

GEORGIA

Georgian activists ask President Salome Zurabišvili to veto the new law "on communications", called by many "censorship law", which provides for fines and bans and will allow the state communications commission to interfere in media activities, and will be added to the “tent law” that prohibits gatherings.
