Next plenary session of Israel-Holy See Commission on December 12

by Arieh Cohen
The two sides met today at Israel’s Foreign Affairs Ministry. The Economic Agreement, which includes the Catholic Church's tax status and that of its property in the country, was still on the discussion table.

Tel Aviv (AsiaNews) – A “Joint Communiqué” released this afternoon confirms that, as previously announced they would do, the delegations of the Holy See and the State of Israel met today at the Israeli Foreign Ministry, "to continue negotiations on the 'Economic Agreement' concerning fiscal and property matters.”  The Communiqué does not repeat this, but it had earlier been made public that the negotiations, within the framework of the "Bilateral Permanent Working Commission between the Holy See and the State of Israel", are set to resume on 12 December this year, and then to continue further, in Plenary session, on the next day.
