People still dying in Wuhan. Over 3 thousand coronavirus victims
Yesterday, out of 34 dead, 27 occurred in Wuhan. In China, there are 20 "return" cases, with viruses from abroad. Li Liang, 36, of Wuhan, already cured of the coronavirus, died five days after exiting the hospital. The news of his death has been overshadowed on the web. Doctors in Wuhan continue to warn that many patients, hospitalized and then discharged, have relapsed into the disease. There are two types of coronavirus.
Beijing (AsiaNews) - The National Health Commission announced that 31 people died yesterday due to coronavirus. Of these, 27 were registered in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei, the epicenter of the epidemic. The total death toll in the country is now 3015; 2902 in Hubei. The infections reached the quota of 80.565. Yesterday 134 new infected were registered.
The authorities reported two other "imported" cases in Zhejiang province. So far there have been 20 of these cases - coming from outside. China is worried that the virus may return to its territory, imported from the 70 and more countries where the epidemic is spreading.
In the 78 nations affected by the virus, there are 14,840 positive cases, which have resulted in 269 deaths so far. Among the most affected countries are South Korea (over 6 thousand cases); Italy (over 3 thousand), Iran (2922), Japan (1037). The situation is starting to appear difficult even in Germany, France, Spain and the United States.
However, China seems far from having dominated the coronavirus. Yesterday, the site of "The Paper", a Shanghai newspaper published the news that a 36-year-old man from Wuhan, Li Liang, already cured of the coronavirus, died five days after leaving the hospital (one of those built in 10 days, to host the infected). The doctors advised Li Liang to stay in quarantine for another 14 days, but on the fifth day he felt bad, with breathing problems. He returned to the hospital where he died after a few hours. And after a few hours, the news of his death was taken down from "The Paper". Doctors in Wuhan continue to warn that many patients, hospitalized and then discharged, have relapsed.
Meanwhile, a group of Chinese scientists have discovered that there are two types of coronaviruses in circulation: one, called "type L", which is the most common, and another "type S". The "type L" originated from the "type S" and is more infectious.
