China's air pollution hits United States
Pollution coming from China has reached California and other American states. Experts say that short of drastic intervention, China's expanding industry and private consumption will affect the environment of the whole world.

For the Olympic Games factories will be shut down to improve the air in the capital but the IOC threatens to cancel some competitions.
Beijing invites UN chemists to test polluted waters
The Chinese government is showing signs of concern about the pollution of the Songhua River. Nearly 20 days after the explosion at the Jilin petro-chemical plant the cause of the pollution the Chinese authorities have called on United Nations chemical experts to analyse the waters.
