Muslim convert to Christianity slaughtered
The man’s name was Ali Hossain Sarkar and he was 68 years old. In 1999 he converted to Christianity. He was a highly respected health worker and had defended the country in the war for independence from Pakistan. His attackers are unknown, but police fear it is a murder with a religious background. Bangladesh is among the most repressive countries towards Christians.
Fear at Christmas in Bangladesh as two bishops receive death threats
Mgr Bejoy D'Cruze, bishop of Shylet, and Mgr Paul Panen Kubi, bishop of Mymenshing, received threatening text messages. Since October, 37 Christian leaders have received threats, including Nirmal Rozario, secretary of the Bangladesh Christian Association. "Since Christians are a minority, their life is very vulnerable,” he said.

Bangladeshi militant suicide bomber in Iraq. The family had said he was going to pray
Neaz Morshed Raja had abandoned his wife and young children to go and fight for the Caliphate. He posted a video, just before blowing himself up in Tikrit. His name had been included in the list of young people who disappeared after the attack on the Dhaka coffee shop.
