Putin and Russian technologies of the future
The Russian president visited the annual Forum showcasing the fruits of the labour of researchers and scientists. From synthetic chocolate to portable devices for reading genetic codes, the sovereignist path to the new ‘possibilities’ of tomorrow's world.
Moscow (AsiaNews) - In recent days, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the annual Forum of Future Technologies at the Moscow International Trade Centre. As usual, he visited the various exhibitions, then participated in the plenary session and held a private meeting with scientists. Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov accompanied him on the visit to show him the achievements of the ‘bio-economy’ project approved by Putin himself last year.
The minister's intention was to show the president the portable device for reading the genetic code, Nanoporus, but Putin stopped first to look at a chocolate-like cream, a biotechnological analogue that can be produced in the laboratory, which caught his attention.
Alikhanov explained that “cocoa beans do not grow in Russia, in fact they grow in a very limited number of countries”, so Russia can now become independent “by producing enzymes through special cells, without oil extraction plants or elevators”.
Putin asked if they had already tried it, but was disappointed that it had not yet passed all the necessary tests for its production and consumption, so he was promised that “sovereign cocoa” would be made available within the year.
As for the genetic code reading device, unlike previous models, which could decipher up to 300 nucleotide sequences, it can now read ‘up to two million’ genetic traces, an impressive result even for the president. This will make it possible to quickly study traces of viruses and pathogenic models, and will be “extremely useful in many sectors, from forensics to agriculture”.
Moving on from the stands, Putin then stopped at the Kurčatovskij Institute, where he met the famous 80-year-old physicist Mikhail Kovalčuk, a specialist in X-ray diffraction for the study of the structure of matter, one of the great scholars to whom the president has entrusted the studies to achieve immortality.
He tried to explain how the preparation of the “village of immortals” is evolving, trying to justify himself because of the 'very difficult geographical conditions, and so we are laying pipes and cables to accommodate someone in the bio-eco-village project.
It is a settlement for up to a thousand people, completely self-sufficient,‘ which could be built ’in forests, such as Siberia or Korea, wherever there is wood waste,‘ or ’manure can be used, wherever there is biomass, we could build these settlements to achieve a completely closed life cycle, transforming waste into energy and biofuel." The president was unable to listen to the entire explanation, and when Kovalchuk began to speculate about the opening of these villages on the moon, he continued his journey into the fantastic science of the future.
Putin then met with former Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova, the neurophysiologist who now heads the Federal Medical-Biological Agency, who told him about the world's first vaccine against birch pollen allergies and similar allergens (apples, peaches, those containing nuts such as peanuts and soybeans), which “turns the lives of millions of people into hell for several weeks a year or forever”.
Now, she assured, “three or four injections will suffice”, and in this case, all preventive clinical research has already been completed, “despite the abnormal and prolonged flowering period” in 2025. Skvortsova also assured that studies are underway for the production of vaccines against cancer, on the system of conferring sensitivity to prostheses, on the method of eliminating phantom pain and much more.
The visit to the stands was so long that by the time the final meeting came around, half of those present had already left the room, but the president nevertheless concluded enthusiastically that "by exploring the laws and wisdom of nature, unlocking its enormous creative potential, our scientists are making decisions for life, health and healthy persistence for many years to come, with food, supplements, vitamins and vaccines that we will be able to produce in the shortest possible time, without unnecessary bureaucratic complications'. Putin then set a date for the next Forum, when new amazing prospects for life will open up for humankind thanks to Russian science.
